Art Kane

Art Kane, born as Arthur Kanofsky, was mentored by Harper Bazaar's Alexey Brodovitch to become of the great commercial photographers of post war New York. While he's mostly remembered for one of his earliest photos, a b/w groupshot of more or less the entire NY jazz scene of the 50's, I think the more interesting shots are the lusciously colored portraits he took in the 60's.
